About Page
Coming from a long line of seamstresses I have been sewing ever since I can remember. My childhood was an immersion in fiber arts. I grew up surrounded by creators of all kinds. Later I attended the Fashion Institute for Design and Merchandising in San Francisco and received a degree in Fasion Design. In addition to sewing I do blockprinting, screenprinting, book making (I am a long time member of NORBAG), painting, drawing, ceramics, and carpentry.
I am always searching for new crafts to learn and try, roving from hunch, to whim, to spark. I love to mix techniques in surprising and fun ways. I am a huge proponent of reuse, of fixing possessions rather than purchasing something new. I believe that there is already enough in the world and I find meaning in being able to fix an object rather than purchasing something new.
My mom and I came up with the name Thread Paper Ink together, a story of choosing not to corner myself into one thing only. Why can't I just do it all?
Growing up in Humboldt I explored all of the wild spaces we have here and I am inspired every day by the place that I am lucky to call home. The flora and fauna of the Redwood forests, rivers, marshland, ocean waters and beaches offer up a delight in textures and colors which I strive to incorporate into my craft.
